Within 10 days, there are 3 birthdays in my family.  My dad, Daniel & David.  So on Saturday afternoon we went to Daniel & Jessica’s for some cake & ice cream.  My mom, dad, Cynthia & Emily met us there.  After our visit, Daniel came by the house with his chain saw and cut up the tree stump in our front yard.  Later on, Ryan and his big muscles came over and (for a small fee) put all the bits of wood in the dumpster for us.

On Saturday evening, the runny nose started and I was officially sick.  Cameron skipped work that day because he had been throwing up, but we think that was just too much candy.  He didn’t go to work on Sunday either, but is at school today and will be working tonight.

Sunday we decided that maybe some fresh air might be nice.  We bundled up Elizabeth in the stroller.  We couldn’t find her hat, so she borrowed mine.  She loves her new sunglasses — she thinks she’s so cool.

I’m feeling much better today.  After talking with one of the social workers at the court, I come to find out that this illness is going around at their office, so I’m sure I caught it at the courthouse.

Captain Nelson (Daniel) came over last night and gave us his official assessment of our backyard, as burn season is only going for about another 5 weeks.

Afterwards, we (Paul, Jessica, Daniel & I) sat outside under the gazebo and chatting while the kids picked weeds and brought them to us as gifts.

Tonight, Paul & I are going to start doing even more in the back.  I had pulled some weeds, but only about 20% of what is out there.   While dinner is cooking, we’ll go do about 15 minutes more, and then start the burning process next weekend probably.   If we spend about 15-20 minutes every day, we should get it all cleared up fairly soon.

We were invited to a birthday party for Sage (Daniel & Jessica’s daughter).  She really turns 3 on Friday, but the party was last night.   Cameron had yesterday off work, so he was able to go and join in the fun.  It was also his first day off in nearly 2 weeks.  Elizabeth was very well behaved, until the end when she was just too tired to stay any longer.   Sage got lots of very nice princess-y presents and a very pink cake.   Not much longer until we’re celebrating a birthday for Elizabeth.

Everyone seems to be breaking up lately.  My ex (Brent) and his wife (Martha) are getting divorced.  Cameron & Nadalee broke up.  And now Jon & Gloria have split.   Let’s hope that is all for a while.   and let’s hope & pray that some of these people come to their senses and get back together.

Last night Cameron & Paul went on a trip while Elizabeth & I stayed home.  They dumped the old toilet in my office dumpster, and then went to Lowe’s (B&Q’s) to pick up some odds and ends for the house.  One of the items was a gazebo.  It’s 10′x10′ and will be a nice shade area for our back patio.   After the weekend of chores, I’ll get some pictures of the house posted.

I found these pics on my cell that were taken in mid-March.  I can see from these pictures that Eliabeth’s hair has grown a lot since then.  She is also a lot stronger.  I’ll try to get something a bit more current to post next week.

Cameron is doing well.  He’s working often and is looking forward to the end of school in the next week.  He’ll then be working a lot more and (hopefully) saving more money.  He & Nadalee broke up so he’s a swingin’ single again.  Hopefully for longer than the last time.

My mom had her hand operated on yesterday.  She’s in a bit of pain, but is doing alright.  She’s sitting around the house and looking at things that have to be painted, redecorated or planted.  By the time she is able to move her hand again, I’m sure she’ll have a nice, long ‘to-do’ list to work on during the summer.

Saturday:  Daniel helped so much on Saturday.  Cameron helped us until he went to work at 1:00.  Trudy watched Elizabeth in the morning while we moved stuff onto the truck.  Just having someone to watch Elizabeth while we work makes all the difference in the world.   Mom & dad came down and helped out all day.  We didn’t know we had so much stuff!

Sunday:  Mom & dad came down and helped us move over a couple more loads out of the townhome to the house.  We picked up some new light fixtures and some curtains for Elizabeth’s bedroom to darken it up a bit.

Today:  The townhome floors were steam cleaned.  My mom is coming over and taking care of Elizabeth while Paul sets up his office, and when I get off work, she’ll watch the babe while Paul & I clean up the old house.

lilac.jpg   My lilacs are in bloom. The blossoms on my peach tree are already gone. The daytime temperatures are now in the upper 70’s. Sweaters/jumpers and coats are a thing of the past. All of the trees in town have sprouted leaves and the air smells wonderful.

Stephanie & Mindy are going to be driving through Utah with their color guard group, and they’ll be stopping in Cedar City for an hour tonight. Unfortunately, it’s going to be quite late, so we won’t be able to make it. I think Cynthia will be able to see them, though.

I forgot to mention what Paul & Cameron got me for my birthday. Cameron made me a nice pot in ceramics class. (He likes telling people that he got me some pot). Paul got me a La-z-boy rocker-recliner, to save my back while rocking Elizabeth to sleep at bedtime. VERY much needed. Not much longer until she’ll be sitting on my lap while I read her bedtime stories.

Cameron was with his dad, so it was just the 3 of us.  My mom & dad were busy at the party of some other family, so we didn’t go anywhere for Easter dinner.  Kinda boring, really.

On Saturday, my mom & Cynthia (and Emily) came down and went shopping for toys for my mom’s house, so I met them at Target and watched them shop for 1/2 hour.  Elizabeth was able to get a new dress, though.  I held it up for her and asked her if she liked it.  She grabbed it and wouldn’t let go and eventually fell asleep with it in her hands.  At the checkout, I had to have the lady scan it while it was still in her arms.  lol    It feels like one of my skirts, which I let her play while while we lay on the bed, so I’m guessing thats why she likes it so much.  New pictures of that dress will be coming soon.

After shopping, I put Elizabeth in the stroller and we walked up to the Art Festival on Main Street and mooched around a little bit.  Mostly, our walk was to give Paul a break so he could rest or work or whatever.  Elizabeth really loves to go outside now that it’s so nice & warm.

On Sunday, Paul called England and found out that Auntie Carol’s mum, Cis, had died on Saturday.  We’re very sorry for their loss.   Paul also spoke with Victoria, Auntie Carol and his mum.  Doreen sounds busy with her own house renovations — new carpets & a new bathroom.

On Saturday we went to cousin Emily’s first birthday party in Cedar City.   It was nice to get out of St. George for a short while and visit with family.

Since Cameron had to work at 2, he couldn’t make it to the party.  Grandpa Kingsley, Daniel & Cameron stayed behind to “work” on Daniel’s yard.  At 10am, grandpa woke up Daniel.   Around 10:20ish, Cameron was picked up by my dad and then they went to a car dealership to browse vehicles.  Then they went to Daniel’s and worked for about an hour.

After that hard labor, it was definitely time for a lunch break, so off they went to the Olive Garden.  By that point, it was time for Cameron to go to work which, fortunately, is next door to the Olive Garden, so he was dropped off.

Here are a few pictures from the party.  It was all Emily could do to hold still on her back for a few seconds, so that’s why she looks a little wiggly.  Elizabeth loves talking to Grandma — both of them — but I only have a picture of one (so far).

Elizabeth learned a new trick.  She sticks out her tongue and blows and thinks she’s so funny.  Also, I gave her an eskimo kiss and she also thought that was super funny.

new-from-gramma.jpg  Today Elizabeth is wearing a new outfit from grandma.

Jessica & Daniel have decided to create a blog.  The only ones missing now are David & Tammy and my mom & dad.  The link is:  http://danjess5.blogspot.com/
