Today is the birthday party at our local bank.  We were  able to go and get a small sandwich, chips (crisps), candy and a drink.  We entered our name to guess how much money is in the jar and also entered to win a $1,000 gift card.  Elizabeth and I spun a wheel to win a piggy bank shaped like a pink poodle, which she LOVES!  We also got a balloon which had to join her in her bedroom during naptime.

We turned on the heater last night and haven’t turned it off yet.  It’s officially winter here (to us).  The daytime high is like 66 or something.  Soooo cold!  This afternoon Elizabeth and I will be going outside to pick what is left of our vegetables.  We’ve been gathering many peppers and green beans, but I think the tomatoes will just have to ripen on our window sill.  There is still some onion, lettuce and spinach out there which should last until it gets really cold. We also built a second planter bed for next years garden.  We’re hoping to have a third one ready by spring.

Nanny is home from the hospital and we’re so happy!  Elizabeth has been driving us crazy by asking about her every other day and not being able to talk to her.  Finally she got to talk to her yesterday and she was happy all the rest of the day.

Everything here is going well.  I’m applying for jobs all the time.  Hopefully something will come up soon.  Part time would be great as I am loving being at home.

We went to Las Vegas this week to visit Paul’s family from the UK.  Here is what we came home to:

pizza

headband

She wanted me to buy this for her when we were out shopping one day. For some reason she can’t keep other things in her hair, but she loved this headband.

raspberry

Another favorite thing Elizabeth has discovered are berries.  Whenever I can find a good deal, I’ll get her a package of raspberries, blueberries or strawberries.  She finishes a package in about a day.
