One of the best things about Elizabeth is that now I get Fathers Day presents!

We are now having a family tradition of me getting a new tea mug every year with Elizabeths face on. At the moment when she sees me with the mug she points and laughs, I am not so sure what she will do when she is 13/14/15/16 etc and I insist on drinking from one of these baby mugs when she has friends round.

In fact by the time she is a teenager I will have enough mugs that I can offer every one of her friends a drink in them!

I also go a screwdriver set and a barnes and noble gift card. I was spoilt the whole day, cooked breakfast, 3 hour nap, then we went to ihop for a late lunch (it was awful, every time we go there we say never again), followed by shopping for books.

I got 3 books , 2 to read and one for business (yes I will read that, but it isn’t one I will read for fun).

Elizabeth and Kathy had a peanut butter cookie at the starbucks cafe while I spent far to long looking for the books.

We came home and sat and watched a hour or two of Eureka on the sci fi channel.

All in all it was a great day and counting down to the next one!

In the last couple of days, Paul & I have noticed that our baby is now a little girl.  Suddenly, she can reach things that she couldn’t a few days ago.   I think her vocabulary has more than doubled overnight, too.   Elizabeth is also acting much more ‘adult’.  She can now do all the sounds to the “wheels on the bus” and makes Paul sing it to her constantly.   These are a couple of pics that Elizabeth let me take after her bath tonight.  (yes, those are her own feet!)

Funny new words:  “cool”  “wow”  ”ummmm…. no”   “choo-choo”     also, everything we say nowadays seems to be repeated.  Elizabeth is trying really hard to talk lately.  She now knows more words than sign language, but we still use the signs quite a bit.

We’re struggling with sleepless nights.  She’s still waking up occassionally during the night because she’s starving to death.   What I mean is, not every night, but at least a few nights during the week…  she needs to have milk and a peanut butter sandwich.  Then she’s been waking up anywhere between 6 and 7am.  *yawn*  We’re ready for a nice lay in when nanny comes to visit.

Everyone is asking for an update on Cameron.  Since graduation, I have hardly seen the boy.   He’s home long enough to dump the dirty laundry, shower and then he’s gone again — sometimes for a few days at a time.
