cameron-and-buster.jpg  Thank goodness Cameron needs a picture of himself with his pet for school, or I’d never get that kid in front of a camera!

During the day was routine & ordinary.  Today was Cameron’s first evening home in a few days, so tonight was his birthday dinner (Elizabeth isn’t old enough to care yet).  Cameron wanted hamburger helper lazagna for his big meal, so I made that and also made 2 birthday cakes.

After dinner, Elizabeth opened her presents (with a little help).  She loves everything she got, I think.  Presents:  a doll, doll stroller, xylophone/piano type thingy, pop up thingy, noise making rolling toy thingy, ride on car thingy and some very cute clothes from England.

**MORE PICTURES COMING SOON**

Today is Cameron’s 17th birthday.  He went to school and then to his dad’s house for the evening.  While he was gone, we decorated his bedroom with crepe paper…. looks like a prom in there……  a very messy prom.

From the Hafen’s:  $30, a video game, one month of free cell service and dinner at Red Lobster.  Martha, Cameron’s soon to be ex-step-mother, brought by a $15 gift card to cold stone creamery (ice cream shop) and some cupcakes.
From us:  a nice watch, locking gas cap, “the raven” (by poe) on mp3, and Elizabeth got him some magnets to stick on his truck that look like bullet holes.  Doreen got him a card and some cash also, which he really appreciated.
Most of the Nelson’s (my side of the family) called or texted.

On Sunday, Elizabeth went down for a nap, so Paul & I did also.  Elizabeth slept for 4 hours, we slept for 3.

Fast forward to nighttime.  It’s 10:45 and we’re all going to bed.  Cameron decides this is the time to play with Buster.  He gets the dog all excited and Buster starts to bark.  Of course, this wakes up Elizabeth.

From 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., Elizabeth is wide awake and wanting to play.  We went for a drive to McDonald’s (as it was the only place open) and got a snack while we drove around a little.  Then we got home and watched some tv and ate cheerios before finally deciding it was time for bed.  After that, she slept very well.  It’s a good thing we were able to nap!

Since mum was going to be at Keith’s on Sunday, Paul made his Sunday calls on Saturday.   Even Victoria was given the priviledge of speaking with Paul, as he sat outside in the shade.

We’re not really sure when this tooth came in.  We found it last night, but it feels big enough that it must’ve been there for the past week or so and we just never knew.

Elizabeth has been eating more than I’ve ever seen her eat before.  For dinner, she ate nearly an entire banana, about 1/3 cup of chicken, 3/4 piece of baby toast, 1/4 of a thick slice of homemade bread, 8 oz of bottle, and various teddy grahams & bite sized baby foods.  Hopefully she’ll be up to 19 lbs by the time she goes in for her annual checkup.

Elizabeth will play with the cell phone — no problem.   But on Sunday’s, she’s used to her dada calling home, apparently.  Today, Elizabeth saw the land line and started going crazy.  She started grabbing for the phone and yelling “nana!!  nana!!”  Paul did as he was told, and called nana.  Elizabeth laughed at the phone in between grabbing for the phone and trying to push buttons to disconnect the call.

We got a letter today saying that Paul has an interview in Salt Lake City on the 15th of September.  We’re probably going to drive up & back in one day.  (For those not familiar, that will be 4 1/2 – 5 hours each way).    I think we learned our lesson when we spent the night in Vegas when Paul had to do the fingerprints.

Elizabeth is just learning how to wave ‘bye-bye’ and how to clap her hands.  She’s been thinking about clapping for the past few weeks, but maybe she stopped for a while because she didn’t feel well?

She is still drooling a lot and pushing on her upper gums with her fingers, but she’s not being fussy or grouchy.  Still, a 3rd tooth is on it’s way!   I’ll try and get some pictures up soon.

Elizabeth lost some weight while she was sick.  Now that she’s better, she’s eating like crazy.  She’s quite picky when it comes to vegetables, but she even eats those really well now.  She’s been grazing between meals even more, also.  Let’s hope the weight packs back on before her 12-month checkup (on September 2).

Elizabeth has also been drooling a lot the past day or two.  Is tooth #3 on it’s way?

Elizabeth really likes having the basement finished.  Today is the first full day of school for Cameron, and she’s going to miss him.  She’s been chasing him around the basement for fun.  Cameron has been talking to Elizabeth more & more, which is nice to see.   I think he likes making her laugh, and she loves it when he entertains her.
