Where has the year gone? Every so often, my boss & I sit down and go over the schedule. We discovered that the next month is very (oddly) slow. So Alan says, ‘if you want to take some time off, maybe this month would be a good time to do that.’ So I took a look at the schedule and decided to leave at noon yesterday and not go back.
Elizabeth & I went on a 2-hour shopping trip while dada slept. It took us forever, but we finally found a curtain rod for the living room. It is so hot outside that it just makes shopping miserable. Every time you get out of the car, you have to walk in the heat to the cool store, then you are back in the heat to go back to the car, then Elizabeth sits in the heat while I load up the car, then it’s back in the hot car while you wait for the a/c to cool it down to a tolerable temperature. Well, by then you’re at a different store, and it starts all over again. Poor little girl wasn’t liking it AT ALL. I think it was only 108 yesterday, but the thermometer on my mom’s car said it was 113.
My mom drove down here to take care of Daniel’s kids while he took a nap yesterday. He was really sick, but still managed to go to work. By the time he got home, though, he needed a rest. Mom went by a yard sale on the way through Springdale and bought a small table for $1, only for it to go into her garage. She asked if I wanted it, so I’ll spruce it up and put it into our newly decorated living room. We needed a side table anyway.
