Last night, Paul and I took Elizabeth to my boss’ house to plug in their new computer for them (it’s difficult for old people to figure that stuff out).
My boss’ wife had no problem kissing their dogs on the mouth, and then kissing my daughter. Also, no one disciplined the dogs when they licked Elizbeth’s hands or feet. When I got home, I scrubbed that girl down from head to toe to get rid of all the doggie germs.
According to Mythbusters, the mouth of a dog is cleaner than the mouth of a human, but it still grosses me out. Is it just me? Maybe I’m just being over cautious? Maybe I just love bleach too much? I’ll guess that my mom would think that dog ’germs’ won’t harm an infant, but my mother in law would agree with me.
